Vulnerability hunting in open source software – A case study
Open source software are popular and often free of use, however this means they rely on a community of contributors to maintain and secure their source code. In this case study we will discuss how some well known solutions were audited, going through various techniques, and how vulnerabilities sitting in the open were caught and reported.
18:50 – 19:40: Trust Management and its application to the Internet of Things (IoT) – Download Presentation
by Giorgos Hadjichristofi
The Internet of Things will facilitate communications among multiple entities or Things to enable interaction between them in a more extensive manner with endless possibilities for collaboration. These Things will support operations in critical infrastructures, such as in health care. During this presentation we will define Trust Management, its importance, and typical approaches taken for trust evaluation. Further, we will present our recent work investigating a proposed trust model and its application to Internet Of Things in a hospital related deployment scenario. Based on the proposed methodology, a GUI is implemented that allows for the visualization of malicious or irregular behavior and the dynamic calculation of trustworthiness. This work aims to support existing work for IoT deployment in hospitals.
