(ISC)2 Cyprus Chapter proudly presents a 2 hour educational seminar with the following agenda:

Agenda:

  • 17:30 – 18:00 : Registration and Coffee
  • Beyond Pentesting – Types of Technical Security Assessment
by Filippos Raditsas and Christos Yiacoumis, KPMG

In an attempt to comply with laws, regulations or contractual requirements and build confidence in their security posture most organisations resort to security audits, ISO certifications and technical security assessments. Although a wealth of such assessments is available, Penetration Testing has become the “go-to” for organisations to get assurance on the effectiveness of their security controls against constantly evolving threats. But is Penetration Testing the be-all and end-all? This presentation is about starting a discussion on the value of Penetration Testing both at a business and at a technical level and sharing some insight on the ‘why, where, when, who and how’ of other types of technical security assessments we could definitely benefit from such as Purple Teaming and Threat Modeling.

  • BIA – The major step to a successful BCP
    by George Zachariou, Primetel

The Business Impact Analysis (BIA), is part of a series of analyses to cover all Business Functions in an Organization.  This establishes a formal evaluation process to determine the continuity and recovery priorities, objectives and targets for the Business function as well as the system and staffing requirements, in the event of a crisis or even disaster. This will then be used to formulate a more effective and reliable Business Continuity Plan (BCP)
